Beach weddings have more romantic appeal these days. So should be the shoes. Every woman knows that the shoes are the final touch of every outfit. Hence, they can make it perfect or simply destroy it.

When it comes to a wedding, we all know that the shoes should be brilliantly ideal! Here is a short list of things to keep in mind when choosing your beach wedding shoes.

Think about the sand. Talk to your wedding planner and ask whether the ceremony will be on the beach itself or about the beach, at the restaurant. If you are planning to have your wedding ceremony on the sand, then choose a model that you can easily take off. Your shoes in hands and you both barefoot would be a perfect scenario for some of your wedding photos.

If you have chosen to have your wedding on the beach, you are unlikely to follow the traditions. That’s why, when it comes to wedding cakes, your beach wedding cake should be originally decorated, colorful and of course, very delicious.

One of the first things you should do is to research all good bakeries in the area where you beach wedding will take place. Once you have their contacts, you can approach them and discuss the idea of your wedding cake. What I would suggest you is to follow the theme of your wedding – décor, colors, motives, elements, etc. Nothing can compare with a perfect wedding cake matching the theme of the wedding and complementing the beauty of the bride (Yes, the wedding cake can make you look prettier when you are cutting the first slice).

The most popular beach wedding cakes are in blue and white. Although blue is the less appetizing color, people usually choose it, because it reminds their guests of water, beaches, summer.

Tropical flowers and colors are also very popular amongst the beach wedding cakes. A fiery crimson flower decoration could turn up the heat and make your wedding cake look incomparably attractive. This wedding cake decoration is perfect for a wedding in red or bright pink.

Silver or gold, combined with white cream, would also make the view of your wedding cake amazing, contrasting with the sand and the sea of the surrounding landscape.

Seashells are without a doubt the most popular motif for a beach wedding cake. They can be different colors, but I recommend you to choose those that will look as natural as possible. Other sea elements that look great on wedding cakes are seahorses, corals, small fishes. Some creative cake bakers could also create real-looking sand on your wedding cake.

If you want something more cheerful and funny, you can go with a colorful wedding cake decorated with palms, beach, sunbeds and even flip flops. I’ve seen a beach wedding cake with the bride and the groom in their swimwear.

A real wedding in Mauritius

It seems like Mauritius is such an attractive destination for beach weddings and honeymoons, that everyone wants to go there. A couple who honeymooned on Mauritius replied to our request for first hand accounts of their time on the island. This was 10 years ago but they still remember every little detail and how impressed they were when they first saw the magical place.

The newly weds met a couple who asked them to go to their wedding (which was the same day) along with all the other people in the photos.

Here is what they kindly shared with us about their holiday in Mauritius:

„The place itself is very beautiful, but many of the locals live in abject poverty. Despite that, we never felt at risk or under threat and the people we met were very friendly, welcoming and helpful.

It is worth noting that all of the beaches in Mauritius are public and as such, no matter where you are you will get hawkers trying to sell you goods on the beach. However, if you tell them ‘no thanks’ they leave you alone without any fuss.

Shania Twain and her boyfriend Frédéric Thiébaud didn’t want to have a long engagement. Just a few days after they announced that they got engaged, the couple married on the beach on New Year’s Day. The breaking news was announced by her rep and People Magazine spread it all over the world.

They were married at sunset in Rincon, Puerto Rico. Shania were dressed in a fabulous wedding dress with stylish black belt, perfectly matching her groom’s suit. She also had a long white veil and looked absolutely astonishing.

The singer and the Swiss businessman celebrated their beach wedding with 40 of their closest family and friends.
